Restator Rappoport Biography

This is my city: restaurateur Alexander Rappoport 3 min. I was born ... in the maternity hospital named after Grauerman on New Arbat. Our family lived on Pogodinskaya Street, and most of my life I lived in the area called Khamovniki today. In the old days, this area was called Poyshchiu or Big Pirogovskaya, and we rarely used the word "hamobniki". Now I live ... So life has developed that in these parts, in the Prechistenka area, I live today, probably, largely thanks to genetic memory.

For me in Moscow, these are the most dear and friends, in which I have known every corner and turn since childhood. Although, of course, a lot has changed: for example, in the house where my children's clinic was, the counting chamber is now located. I like to walk ... It depends on the very purpose of the walk. If we are talking about sports morning walks that I try not to miss - although I admit, sometimes very laziness - then, of course, the best, unique place for this is the embankment opposite to the puddles: it seems to me that there are very few such places in the world.

I start, as a rule, opposite the arrows on Yakimanka and finish in the area of Mosfilmovskaya Street, near the Kievsky station. The route is approximately 7 kilometers - along the picturesque embankment perfectly equipped for running. According to my ideas, this is what the modern city district should look like in the 21st century. As for just walking, I like boulevards. On Saturdays, I go to Sanduna and try to walk from home.

I also like cozy Arbat lanes and the area of Povarskaya Street. An unloved area ... "dislike" is a very strong word. But everything related to the distant part of the Boulevard Ring - Pokrovka, pure ponds - for me for unknown reasons an absolutely alien area. I probably could live everywhere, but, despite very beautiful places and architecture, for me it is another and completely alien city.

Favorite restaurants and bars ... It is quite difficult for me to be objective, because I, of course, love my restaurants. I can be accused of old -fashioned, I always liked the old Moscow establishments. For example, in the Prague cafe, we went out several times a year with my parents, with my mother, and it seemed to me completely beautiful. Today the cafe is restarting, and I hope that something worthy will be created in its place.

It is unfortunate that the project with Aragvi did not work out because it was a place with colossal energy. And in general, it seems to me that the potential of old Moscow restaurants has not yet been exhausted. In Moscow, I love sushi in Sumosan at the Slavyanskaya hotel. And I like that there are more and more small restaurants in the metropolis, which are of interest from a gastronomic point of view-over the past season I discovered another five or six new institutions.

The place in Moscow, where I have long dreamed of going, but it doesn’t work ... There are many beautiful parks in Moscow. If in Kolomenskoye, for example, I still got out for the “Picnic of the posters”, then in Tsaritsyno I was definitely not the last ten years. In Moscow, you can meet me besides home and work ... I try to walk more, so in addition to the house and work, I can be found on a walk.

I really love the Moscow metro, I’m still very comfortable and comfortable in it-there is no week that I do not pass in the subway at least once, and I have my own three card. You know, for me this is a certain way of meditation: I like people, I like the atmosphere, the metro is insanely pure and comfortable. From the point of view of comfort, the Moscow metro is much more convenient than anywhere else in the world.

And with the New York subway, where you really need to be a specialist in order to figure it out, it cannot even be compared. While I answered the questions, I found out that, it turns out, the bus can also be paid on the bus with a Troika card. Be sure to try my "three" on the bus in the near future. Muscovites differ from residents of other cities ... The main thing is what I want to say is that Muscovites really differ from residents of other cities.

On the one hand, its cosmopolitancy. On the other hand, a certain calm, despite the most common opinion that Muscovites are constantly running somewhere. From the point of view of the perception of everything - space, restaurants, people - the inhabitants of the capital are not fussing, as if they had nowhere to hurry, they have already ran away their word.

In Moscow, everything new that arises in the world is the first to appear - new trends, restaurants, boutiques, shops; And people rightly want to get all the most fashionable and best of all existing offers. Moreover, compared with other cities, oddly enough, Muscovites are much less capricious: they may well be condescending if something is not perfect. I don't like in Moscow ...

When you love the city, it is difficult to say that you do not like it in it. If you still think, traffic jams in Moscow are not the most comfortable phenomenon, although today there are no megacities where they would not have been.In general, I do not really agree with the concept according to which the modern city must be created for a certain category of citizens, whether motorists or pedestrians: it should be convenient for everyone.

A city where there are very few parking spaces can be called a city where it can be truly comfortable. I am glad that with city transport the situation has radically changed for the better. Today, including taxis and car sharing, he in many ways modified Moscow, which has become much more convenient. Photo: Provided by the Supporting Marketing agency.
