In addition to love for literature, a love of the sea lived in his heart, originating on the banks of his native Vitim.

At the age of fifteen, Evgeny Khokhryakov decided to connect his future with the sea and entered the newly opened river school in Ust-Kut. After the service, Yevgeny was going to retrained from the navigator of the river vessel into the sailors of a round -the -world voyage. This letter turned the world of Eugene: he became a student of the journalism department, forever connected his life with literary work.

During his studies, he accepted the proposal to work at the Irkutsk television studio and went to Nizhneudinsk with his own correspondent. Here he plunged into the life of different people, into their fate, which gave abundant material for future books. Evgeny Khokhryakov began with works for adults. But the conversation with V. Rasputin changed his creative direction. He realized that it is better to write for children, because they are our future.

The first book “The incredible adventures of Shah and his friends” was published in Irkutsk in the year. In it, Evgeny Khokhryakov turned to the impressions of his own childhood, making one of the main characters his first dog. After some time, readers began to ask the author to write new stories about the dog and another hero of the book - the boy Seryozha. In the year, the book “The Adventures of Seryoga and His Friends” appeared, which included the story “Shah and Mashka” and other fascinating stories about three boys from the Siberian village of Kolotovka.

Then the sequels about Seryoga followed - the story “The star fell on the palm” and “Battle for the fortress, or the gold of the admiral”.

Since the year, he has been a member of the All -Russian Public Organization “Russian Writers' Union”. Once Evgeny Mikhailovich met a pretty mischievous kitten. Two weeks of life next to him gave the writer impressions to create a new book - “Girl named Koshmar”. That is how in the family of Evgeny Mikhailovich the Kitten was called. The book turned out to be funny and funny, and the students of a number of Irkutsk schools after discussing each story made illustrations to them.

The heroes of the books of Yevgeny Khokhryakov are remembered by readers, become their faithful friends. One of them is the famous character of the literary and artistic magazine "Siberian" by the boatswain Sarma. Evgeny Mikhailovich made him the hero of the book “Botsman Sarma”, in which he spoke about the new adventures of the Baikal sailor. Khokhryakov makes the child think about their attitude towards people and wider - to the world. ” In the year, the writer became the winner of the literary contest “New Adventures of Siberian and His Friends”, who held the magazine, for the story “As a Boatsman Sarma Existed a fire”. And then the cycles of stories about the adventures of the puppy of Tyapa and the kitten of the Bloopers, which were lost in the forest, fairy tales about the teddy friends of the writer “The Secret of Strawberry Polyana”, where the Snow Queen and Baba Yaga become good heroes, and Koschey the immortal is lost in a large modern city.

According to the memoirs of the writer-naturalist Semyon Ustinov, the stories of Yevgeny Mikhailovich Khokhryakov are saturated and true: the adventures of the heroes of stories in the taiga, on fishing “I think that the publication of such stories will return our children and grandchildren to the origins, roots.
