After school, he studied Germanistics at several German universities, and in the year at the University of Heidelberg, he received the degree of Doctor of Philosophy. For some time, Goebbels tried - however, without much success - to grate in the writer and journalistic field. At first, he belonged to the left wing of the party, led by the Strassers brothers who advocated socialism and nationalism.

Goebbels even believed that Germany should unite its efforts with the Soviet Union in the struggle against the hated West.

He called Lenin the "national liberator" of Russia, and himself - the "German communist." At the same time, he categorically rejected the Communist Party platform. At this time, he treated Hitler rather wary due to the fact that the future Fuhrer was not shy with gratitude to accept money from industrialists. However, Hitler knew and highly appreciated Goebbels's propaganda abilities and therefore did everything to lure him to himself.

He indicated that this victory became the "fulfillment of our most cherished desires" and "the crown of our work." First of all, Goebbels established strict state control over the media and culture, which allowed him to manipulate public opinion.

Despite the fact that the role of Goebbels in the ideological-propagandist substantiation of the Holocaust was significant, his attitude towards the Jews was contradictory. Initially, he, apparently, was not an anti -Semite, since there were many Jews among his acquaintances. Some historians suspect that Goebbels publicly supported Hitler’s anti -Semitism from purely opportunistic reasons.

Which, however, did not prevent him from actively participating in the preparation of the general German Jewish pogrom in November, which went down in history as a "crystal night." Goebbels foresaw the defeat of Germany, Goebbels met the war in the year without delight. He understood that this war was unpopular, and was afraid of defeat. That is why he threw all his forces to the propagandist to ensure that Germany and Fuhrer still win.

In the year, in order to raise the spirit of the Germans after the defeat near Stalingrad, Goebbels made his famous speech about the "total war." A few days before the end of the war, Goebbels, together with his wife and 6 children, moved to the so -called Fuhrer bunker, where Hitler appointed him a successor as Reich Scanler. However, Goebbels did not have to endure his idol.

After that, the spouses of Goebbels committed suicide. Today, Goebbels's name has become a symbol of cynical propaganda.
