The writer was born on November 27, and although it happened in Odessa, soon the family moved to Yalta. Childhood and youth passed not only behind games on the street, but also for endless reading - Kuprin, Strugatsky, Chekhov and other writers.

In the same years, Gregory tries to write on his own. The military service confirmed the talents and interests of Gregory - here he joins the Naval Theater, and then becomes part of the whole literary association.

So it is possible to decide on the choice of specialty at the university - this is a department of dramaturgy at the Literary Institute. The first successes in the year Grigory Oster, with his experience, realized what the word “fame” means - it immediately followed the exit of the collection “How good to give gifts”. It was here that the same boats, an elephant, a parrot and a monkey appeared.

These are one of the most recognizable and, without exaggeration, cult characters of Soviet animation. At the same time, Oster emphasizes that it is not just humorous stories, but an attempt to educate - he asks not only to praise or punish children, but to respect them as independent personalities. The excellent evidence of the heights achieved by the Oster was the publication in Canada of the anthology of the whole work of the writer - it was a circulation in the incredible 12 million copies.
