Ilnaz Mukhametzyanov Biathlon Biography

Photo: Biathlon Udmurtia today is celebrated by Ilnaz Mukhamedzyanov, a member of the biathlon team, the winner of the Izhevsk Rifle, the world champion among youth. In an interview with the biathlon fan club, Izhintovka, Ilnaz spoke about his first competitions, about whether there is a captain in the biathlon team of Udmurtia, about the books that the Russian team reads and much more.

Tell me how you started to engage in biathlon? I came to Biathlon in grade 4, at 11 years old. He began to engage in as everyone called me a classmate, said that there was an interesting coach who worked with Ivan Cherezov. He meant Viktor Anatolyevich Churin. Then Ivan Yuryevich, it seems, arrived from the Olympic Games in Turin, and there was a real splash.

I decided to try, and then, as it usually happens, the classmate tied, and I stayed. Then there was a fairly long break when I did not train, but Andrei Anatolyevich Fomin was able to somehow convince me, my parents, and I returned to Biathlon, and since the years I began to study consciously. Remember, when for the first time you got skiing? Yes, in kindergarten.

Dad somewhere found wooden skis, they were even without fasteners, I put on its felt boots and ran. Did you deal with some other sports? Or immediately came to Biathlon? Then there was football, basketball, walked a couple of times on karate, was engaged in ballroom dancing. I tried everything that you can. Why did it happen? Was there so much energy? He could sit in front of him for six hours.

Apparently, my parents realized that this is not the development vector that I needed, and gave me to different sports. Has a large number of training affected performance? To which class did you manage to fully study? But I was lucky with the teachers, they understood everything, but I myself did not leave my studies, tried to ask for additional tasks. Sometimes I just pretended that I was doing something - I used the ingenuity laughs.

It was perfect until the eighth grade - because there were no fees and field competitions. And already starting from the ninth grade, it all began - they took me to the republic’s national team, long fees began, 18 days every month - it became difficult to combine it with study. What is your education? As far as I know, in Udmurtia biathletes get into a sports boarding school, did you go around this stage?

Since I live in Izhevsk, a ski base near the house, and to the Palace of Pioneers Ddut, where I was engaged, it was not so problematic to get - there was no need for this. Were there such people on whom you wanted to equal, who motivated you at the beginning of a sports career? It used to be that he came to our Ddut Palace and, thanks to the coaches, we even had some press conferences with him.

And just one of these meetings with him was a turning point when I thought - everything, you need to train well now to reach the heights. What motivates you now? It was not for nothing that I went out at 8 in the morning to the stadium and returned at 8 pm. There is no work in idle, and everything that I have developed should be enough. The most vivid competitions in which you took part?

Because in terms of actions that I performed both in terms of psycho -emotional, functional, and skis rode - everything turned out there well. It was just necessary to go with the flow - and everything turned out. From international starts, what have you remembered? The first is a relay at the junior world championship when we won. She was remembered by how I was worried, although that year I thought that everything - I grew up and should not worry, but in the end I was shaking.

The second is a sprint in Shushene last year, at the first stage of the IBU Cup. I was remembered by the fact that I did not understand what happened there: it seems, I started, it seemed, finished and showed a fairly good result of the 11th place - the best result among Russian athletes in this race - approx. Do you miss world starts? With what is now - it is better not to take a draw.

What is the main difference between Russian starts and international? In that year, to some extent, this prevented me from being realized. In Russia, you perform in places that you have known you from youthful years, the same Uvat, Khanty-Mansiysk, Tyumen. This is your comfort zone.

Ilnaz Mukhametzyanov Biathlon Biography

And in our country, not everyone can afford to travel abroad, and my family is no exception. And here - Europe! And this unfamiliar atmosphere, it somehow yields. And my personal problem - I began to twist my head and look at others, compared myself to them. Now, domestic competitions are held according to such a system that men drive with juniors, and women with juniors.

Is there any interaction between the male and junior team in the Udmurtia national team? In our republic, juniors and men train together, everyone interacts well. There are some jokes, advice, and there is no such separation that we are men, and you, juniors, stay away from us, we are more powerful than you, and you sit somewhere, rest. Does it help you when they stand on the highway, shout and support?

Does this give some strength, or is the noise just perceived? In the last circle, this is very powerful support, and forces are added, you can no longer hit the dirt in the dirt, and you need to work. Basically, there are no people there - this is not the World Cup. It happens that some stages will bring children, and that’s it. I think this year this situation was due to coronavirus, but nevertheless, the people came, and this, of course, is very pleasant.

Another question about the team. This year there was a situation on the tour of de skits when two skiers of the Russian national team fell because they interfered with each other and eventually arrived 8 and 9, and they could work with a team and show a higher result. Do you have any team agreements to act together? Because we have shooting, and even if you decompose everything, you will agree, one can shoot zero, and the other will shoot one - and this is already a gap for 30 seconds.

But if there is such a situation when we go together or side by side, I do everything possible so as not to interfere with anyone. Our sport is probably more loyal than skis. Is it possible to help each other, for example, when you go together - one polished, the second. Someone comes forward, someone is resting behind-there is this. But no one agrees in advance. Is there a captain in the national team of Udmurtia?

We have team leaders, and, so to speak, the old -timers of the team are Volodya Semakov, who can always help with advice. And if we talk about the leadership qualities, then this Sasha Vovarnitsyn takes this function, of course, secretly. He communicates with everyone, for example, with the same Cherezov - in this regard, he is well done. Imagine that you have a magic wand, and you can at least change in the biathlon of Udmurtia.

What would you first change? Sometimes they bend a stick. A specific situation: a biathlon complex is a regime object, and there you can only shoot with, because the security has been working only from this time. And our training lasts an hour, and if you go out at 10, you will do everything super firmly, you will return only to, and you still have a second training, of course, everything is discussed, but so far the situation is this.

I understand that this is a requirement, there are certain standards, and there is no getting away from this, but sometimes I want more understanding in relation to their athletes. When such global issues arise, are you trying to solve this through the Biathlon Federation of Biathlon or directly? In connection with the latest doping scandals, is there any pressure?

Has something changed in recent years? But now there is no jolly that there will be a doping check. They came and came, took the test. If conscience is clear, then there is nothing to be afraid. Began to take more tests? We are not particularly talking about such things, it is like something granted, and not the event that you need to talk about. And at what point does the athlete get into the testing pool?

And they conduct some conversations with you, where they explain that, for example, it is possible, that it is impossible - you cannot know the whole list of prohibited drugs. But we are written every year, for example, such and such a drug was made, it is better not to use it. There are different services through which you can find out whether the drug is prohibited or not.

But when you train in the team team, and they give out the packaging there, you no longer check, because you clearly understand that everything has already been checked, and you can not worry about this. Did it somehow affect your preparation? Explicit symptoms quickly left, but the virus, still, remains, and when the athlete begins, as if nothing had happened, to train, this, all the same, knocks down the body.

I was lucky in this regard.
