Biography of Patrick Fiori
Patrick's stage debut took place at the age of 12 in the La Legende des Santonniers musical comedy on the stage of the Marseille opera at the invitation of the famous actor Frank Fernandel. He then took part in the filming of the show of novice artists Les Habits du Dimanche, where the viewers and the highest experts of specialists received recognition. In the year, Patrick Fjori was again in the spotlight, receiving the main prize at the French Song contest in Perpignan.
International success came to Patrick Fjori after participating in the year at Eurovision, where he played for France and took fourth place with the composition of Mama Corsica. Thanks to the competition, the career Fiori went to a new round, and in the years the singer released two albums. In Fiori, he was listening to the famous French songwriter Eddie Marnei.
He introduced him to his colleagues Luke Plamondon and Ricardo Kochchate, who gained actors for his new musical “Notre Dame de Paris”, and Fjori got the role of captain of the royal shooters, Phoebus de Chateraper. Together with two other participants in the original composition - Daniel Lavois and Garu, he recorded the single Belle, which later became diamond. Since then, the singer's solo career began to develop quite successfully: the artist released 10 albums, has 2 platinum and 9 gold discs; 2 Single was awarded silver disks.
We present to your attention an interview with an artist who in May came to Moscow to participate in the presentation of the Tashir music award. This became a shock not only for me, but for the entire troupe, for our entire team. And we are talking not only about the success of the musical, but also about my personal, about the success of all the performers of the main roles.
We found a response not only in France, but also in every corner of the globe, where the performance was held or its concert versions were performed. I could only dream, or rather, did not even dare to dream that someday in my career I would reach such heights that would further allow me to engage in my favorite profession and have such a successful solo career. Of course, quasimodo.
This character is beautiful, such a “pure” that has a wonderful soul. He is beautiful because nature played a cruel joke with him, but he has a big heart, more than anyone. And he is ready to let any person into him. Quasimodo is magnificent. But this experience helped me a lot in the theater. What is the difference between the theater and the stage, how do you adapt?
I participate not only in musicals, but also theatrical productions. I think that a lot depends on the director. He directs the actors to get exactly what is needed. It is very important that the director is able to build a relationship between the actors. Each actor is individual, and we must be able to convey his own thought to each. In the Notre Dame de Paris, we felt the spirit of unity, we were a team, and everyone wanted to make the best that was in his power.
We knew that we should adapt to each other and be all at the same level of performance, everything was supposed to take shape in a single ensemble. We completely trusted the director who “led” us. This is regarding the Notre Dame de Paris. If we talk about the dramatic theater, then in the “Buhlor’s wife” La Femme du Boulanger, again much depended on the director, but here he was more likely trying to find the features in the actors themselves, which our characters possessed and help them manifest themselves.
And the third, as for my concerts, here I am my own master. I put my soul, my thoughts and feelings in them and I want to say that in these moments I feel like the happiest person in the world because this is a real “I”. The same applies to me: when I go to the concert, I am waiting for songs that I know and love. I approach the choice of the repertoire the same and when I record the album, and when I make a program for the concert.
Of course, I record and perform songs the most popular, but I always include both in the album and a concert of songs that the audience knows less or does not know at all. I am doing this so that, along with my favorite compositions, the listeners discover something new for themselves or remembers something well-forgotten. By reaction at concerts, I see that the public likes this approach, it is interesting for people.
You understand that two or three songs can be remembered from the album, and there are always more good compositions. But it’s always difficult to choose. I was lucky not only to be surrounded by music and exist in it, but also to be its performer. I just can’t imagine my life without all this. I don’t even know what I could do. The greatest happiness is to have a job that you love, because of which you want to wake up in the morning.
My most main advice: go and watch. Because every setting or concert opening. Of course, this is a whole thing of taste: you may like it and not like it. But, firstly, it will be your personal opinion, personal perception, and, secondly, you will satisfy your curiosity.
Although, if you ask: does it make sense to go to the Garu concert? Of course, I will answer that it is worth it, because this is a certain quality and level.I will answer the same about the concert version of “Notre Dame de Par” in the production of the VDEST production company, thanks to which we came to Russia. Everyone decides for himself and this applies not only to musicals.
For example, if I hear that the ballet troupe of the Bolshoi Theater comes on tour, of course, I will go. I’m interested in it, I don’t know if I will like what I will see, but they have not yet disappointed me. The main thing is to go and watch, go and listen. Patrick, my next question is rather banal, but your Russian fans probably would like to know what your most vivid impression is from our country and our people?
And I will explain to you. You see, I fell in love with Russia. And this happened before I started singing and generally arrived in your country. I knew about Russia from history, music, I read about it, so I had some general ideas. Acquaintance with them aroused in me an interest in the country. When they arrived in France to choose performers to represent the franchoy -speaking artists in Russia, from their conversations between themselves, with me, from how they reacted to the whole process, I realized that they did this based on great love for their profession, for artists and their country.
I was imbued with this attention before I was already officially invited to Russia. And when I arrived here, I fell in love with Russia as a beautiful girl, despite the fact that it is a country. You know, for me people have always been more important than attractions. And what Tatyana and Boris did for me, they were able to, even “forced” me to imbue my attitude to Russian culture, to the Russian soul.
Our interview is coming to an end, Patrick, maybe you want to convey something to your fans who are waiting for you and your concerts, are waiting for Notre Dame, despite the fact that the final concerts were held in March? The audience that listens to me at concerts is becoming more and more numerous. My profession allows people who live very far to hear and keep abreast of what is happening in my genre.
Another of the reasons why I fell in love with Russia are people. I really like your people, they are beautiful not only externally, but also by the wealth of their soul, their return, with the warmth that they endow those who they like. I come to Russia with great pleasure. But in Moscow you live in a crazy rhythm and time to meet in a cafe to discuss something over a cup of coffee, you practically do not have.
If I could, I would love to drink a cup of coffee with my every fan, but I understand that this is impossible. And my greatest wish, as well as any artist: so that more people come to my concerts. But, understand me correctly, I want this, so that a larger number of people can come into contact with my art and share the joy of our communication with me. I am very happy and grateful for such a warm welcome and I invite everyone to my concerts, which will take place in Russia in the near future.
So I'll be back soon!
